Charity Conference: 1 Million Hryvnias Raised for Ukrainian Defenders
On April 1, 2023, the charity conference “Dentistry: The Complex Choices of Today” brought together over 150 owners and CEOs of leading dental clinics from across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Kherson, Odesa, and others. The funds raised – 1,000,000 UAH – were donated to Dental Help UA for dental rehabilitation of soldiers.
Most attendees have actively supported the “Return a Smile to a Hero” project for nearly a year. To date:
230 clinics and 11 laboratories in 27 cities are involved
Over 700 soldiers have received or are receiving high-quality dental treatment
Straumann implants have been provided for free
Leaders sharing rehabilitation cases included Larysa Dakhno, Anatoliy Tokar, Ruslan Ratushnyi, Oleksandr Prykydko, Ihor Bilotserkivskyi, Yuriy Obukhivskyi, Viorel Radukan, Vlad Kushniruk, Serhiy Hrybovskyi.
Special guest: Vitaliy Deynega, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, volunteer, public figure, founder of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation. Event moderator: Artem Dubnov.
“The goal was not only to raise funds but also to address key issues in dental volunteerism,” said Olena Polikarchyk, founder of Dental Help UA. “We face challenges such as funding quality care for an increasing number of Defenders, adapting clinics for soldiers with disabilities, motivating staff and clinic owners — especially as the war is a marathon, not a sprint. Dental health and a confident smile give soldiers additional strength. Today we took a powerful step in this direction.”
